OUR TCM DOCTOR EXPLAINS THE BENEFITS OF THE WELLNESS BOX
Happy Tea explained by Dr. Nat Kringoudis;
Barbary Wolfberry Fruit or Go Qi Zi as it is known in China, is a very effective little berry that helps to cleanse and tone the blood. For this reason it helps to awaken the body and the senses leaving you feeling fabulous. It also helps that it’s a little package full of antioxidants – the very things that help to clean up the damage that stress leaves behind.
Happy Tea also contains another favourite Chinese fruit of mine – Shan Zha or Hawthorn Fruit. These little delicious apple-like fruits are great for digestion. They help to move any stagnated or accumulated food through the digestive tract and have a very calming effect on the gut in general. Shan Zha can be used to calm down a sensitive stomach or and help with digestive issues. It’s very gentle, safe and tastes delicious!
While both Chrysanthemum and Rose Flower both have an extremely calming effect on the body.
According to Dr Nat TCM, Antioxidants are wonderful little molecules bursting with all the good stuff. Essentially they help you turn back the clock and fight the signs of ageing and damage. As the name suggests, Antioxidant tea is a powerful force that reverses the effects your environment has had on your bodies (oxidation). Visualise an old rusty piece of iron; this is oxidation at its finest. Now, imagine the effect your environment has had on your body thanks to your diet, lifestyle, pollutants, toxins, stress. All of these factors have a huge impact on you – leading to damage just like the rusty iron. They all contribute to placing a load on you that goes right down to how your cells interact. It's a good thing we understand too well the effects of stress and have collaborated a special mix of herbs known as Antioxidant Tea to help you counteract the effects of stress and ageing.
Dr. Nat Kringoudis explains how Sleep Tea works within the body:
"One of the reasons we find it so difficult to rest at night is due to an overwhelming feeling of heat. Some people report night sweats whilst others tell us they need to sleep with their feet poking out of the covers. Perhaps you can relate. Of course not everybody experiences night time heat (most of us like to actually sleep cosy but not sweltering!) and so we’ve used a special herb, from the lotus plant which helps to clear any excessive heat. This means you will feel calmer, less sweaty and in turn, more relaxed. Too much heat in the body can make the mind race along like you’re Usain Bolt (the current holder of the ‘fastest man’ title). It can also contribute to restlessness and weird dreams – the kind that you would very much like to forget because they often involve an awkward moment with an ex partner or something random like an affair with your very unattractive boss. Nobody is ever going to wake rested after a night of horror!"
There are several essential elements in Energy Tea that allow it to revitalise your body. We'll let Dr Nat TCM explain.
Straight up, ginseng, both the flowers and root are known as powerful energy boosters. But did you know that these busting beauties are actually ‘adaptogens’ meaning that they ‘adapt’ to exactly what your body needs? If things are a little on the low and sluggish, adaptogens get in there and shake things up. Also, if you’re firing on overdrive (in a not so good way) they help to calm things back down to the land of the living. This is great news for your hormones.
